President: Sir John Eliot Gardiner
Blandford Choral Society was founded in the nineteenth century, and is one of the oldest choral societies in the region.
Our members come from as far afield as Dorchester, Ringwood and Wareham, as well as from many of the villages
around Blandford. Our concerts include professional soloists and professional orchestras. Our current programme for this season includes Mendelssohn's Elijah and Haydn's Nelson Mass, in addition to the Messiah for Christmas.
We stage several concerts a year in a variety of different locations besides Blandford Forum. During the summer months, many of our members are also involved with the Milton Abbey Festival. We rehearse in Blandford St Mary CE Primary School (in Birch Avenue near TESCO) on Mondays from 7.30pm to 9.00pm.
Music is supplied. The rehearsals are hardworking but fun. The current annual subscription is £40 covering the season from September to June. We appeal to choral singers of every standard, from beginners to highly experienced. There is no audition,
and if you would just like to come to a rehearsal to see whether you might enjoy it, you would be most welcome. If you are interested, do please get in touch with me on 01747 854 576, or just turn up on a Monday night. Looking forward to seeing you ! Telephone 01747 854 576
